The SCT includes a group of highly skilled and trained Delegates investigating and determining Initial Liability claims for injury or disease relating to abuse suffered in Defence and are supported by Case Managers who provide a point of contact and support throughout the claims process.
Our Case Managers (APS 6) apply extensive knowledge and experience gained from a relevant background in psychology, social work, counselling or nursing to build rapport with clients, understand their unique experiences and provide evidence based case management support to those submitting claims relating to abuse within Defence.
Case Managers are expected to provide case management support to Veterans within the Specialised Case Team, acknowledging the traumatic nature of their history with Defence and the potential re-traumatising nature of submitting a claim to the Department.
