HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of APS6 Level Copy Editor on behalf of our client. This position, located in DEAKIN ACT, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Corporate Publications Team in the Strategic Communications Division.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As an APS6 Level Copy Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of key corporate documents for the Agency.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Copy editing and proofreading corporate documents in line with the Australian Government Style Manual and internal style guides.
- Overseeing quality assurance to ensure adherence to Agency standards for accuracy and clarity.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to create content tailored to diverse audiences.
- Conducting internal research to articulate business objectives through document narratives.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement in corporate writing.
- Creating and updating technical guidance documents, procedural guides, and governance frameworks.
- Regularly reviewing published content to ensure relevancy and user experience.
- Creating communication materials focusing on plain English and accessibility guidelines.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Exceptional editing, proofreading, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate document editing and writing.
- Familiarity with the Australian Government Style Manual or similar standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Initiative, reliability, and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Team player with excellent communication skills
