    The Program Delivery Division is the gateway for veterans and their families to access services that will maintain and enhance their quality of life by improving their physical and mental wellbeing.
    The Health Programs and Services Branch aims to maintain and enhance the physical wellbeing and quality of life of eligible persons and their dependents through health care and other are services that promote early intervention, prevention and treatment, including advice and information about health service entitlements.

The Branch Support and Medical and Allied Health Programs Section currently comprises of two teams - the Branch Executive Support and Ministerial team and the Medical and Allied Health Programs team. The section is responsible for:

  • Leading and implementing business improvement and reform activities with respect to DVA’s prior approval processes.
  • Coordinating, preparing and managing Ministerial and Executive Correspondence, complex correspondence, Requests for Information and other inputs as required for the Branch.
  • Management of the medical and allied health programs, which includes monitoring of program budgets.
  • Providing recommendations and high level program advice for complex prior approval requests and requests for further review.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for medical and allied health approvals and medical reimbursements.
  • Developing and progressing branch related management and business reporting tasks to support the provision of high quality client service.
  • Managing and administering arrangements between DVA and Veterans UK and Veterans’ Affairs New Zealand under the British, Commonwealth and Allied (BCAL) Veterans scheme.
