Our client is seeking to engage an APS5/6 Royal Commission Liaison Officer.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 3 months with possibility of extension
Pay rate:$58-$65/Hourly
Eligibility/Security Requirement: NV1 Clearance preferable
Royal Commission Liaison Officer will assist in the management and clearance of responses to Notices from the Royal Commission and provide direct support to the Associate Secretary to ensure his involvement in the Royal Commission’s activities are supported.

The Liaison Officer will be responsible for:

  • Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
  • Engage positively with stakeholders, manage stakeholder engagement, and negotiate beneficial outcomes if required.
  • Required to support the broader team in the preparation, development, and analysis of artefacts for the Taskforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, organize, and maintain digital files in accordance with established filing systems.
  • Monitor and manage group mailboxes to facilitate timely and organized communication.
  • Work closely with colleagues to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of digital filing activities, including current completeness of files.
  • Brief writing, drafting of tasking emails, general

Experience and skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in working within a government setting to provide summaries, briefing packs, Ministerial responses, and communication strategies. Drafting of tasking emails; general internal correspondence to colleagues and stakeholders on Royal Commission activities.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, has well developed strategic thinking skills
  • Have an ability to work well with others, works well under pressure and is able to respond positively and with flexibility to emerging priorities
  • Have excellent writing skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly and succinctly if required.
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team to produce high quality and accurate Department’s documentation as required.
