Our client is seeking to engage an APS5 Co-Design and Engagement Officer.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 6 months
Pay rate:$55.24/Hourly (excluding super)

Responsibilities:
The APS5 Co-Design and Engagement Officer is accountable under limited supervision to undertake moderately complex to complex work. Legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents guide the position.
The APS5 Co-Design and Engagement Officer will be required to undertake specialist activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident. It will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that supports and contributes to the Agency’s objectives.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating co-design working groups, workshops and other events.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to prepare co-design materials.
- Maintaining relationships with relevant key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
- Working as part of a high performing team to effectively engage with people with disability, their families and careers using a nationally consistent engagement approach.
- Representing the Agency at external forums and events, providing information and guidance to people with disability and the wider community.
- Proactively delivering engagement activities and projects against the Agency’s Engagement Framework by applying your co-design and engagement experience.
- Delivering clear, concise and effective messaging to people with disability, their families and careers as well as other community stakeholders.
- Managing a shared inbox, acting as a point of escalation for the triaging of enquiries and requests.
Key skills required for role:
- Ability to influence effective community engagement program design and delivery by researching and identifying the specific issues, needs and interests of target audiences through timely and relevant consultation mechanisms.
- Monitor and evaluate stakeholder engagement and communications projects providing ideas for continuous improvement.
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of stakeholder engagement, including meeting programmes, responding to relevant stakeholder enquiries, and stakeholder mapping.
- Understanding the IAP2 engagement spectrum in the human services context
- Presentation to a small group of stakeholders on a regular basis is a skill we should also look for.
Desirable skills to have for the role:
- Project Management skills/experience and understanding of accessibility.
