Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE AVAILABLE

A key role for the Department is to strengthen communities and regions, including in Australia’s non-self-governing territories. The Territories Division administers the unique territories of Christmas Island, the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Jervis Bay and Norfolk Island; and manages national interests in the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory. The division delivers good governance and state-type services in the territories by providing governance frameworks and working with service delivery partners to provide services to support these communities.
The IOT Government Arrangements and IOT Contracts Sections are responsible for managing commercial contracts (including air services, airport and port management related services), Service Delivery Arrangements (SDA) with the Western Australian Government, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Australian Government agencies.

Key priorities for the Sections are:

  • administration of commercial contracts;
  • administration of SDAs and MoUs;
  • management of relationships and issues arising; and
  • delivery of approved Administered Capital Budget projects.

The IOT Government Arrangements and IOT Contracts Sections are seeking to recruit two Contract Managers to manage a portfolio of commercial contracts or SDAs.
The successful applicants may also manage or support the development of other key projects or deliverables that contribute to branch, divisional or departmental priorities.

Your role may include:

  • day to day management of a portfolio of contracts or SDAs
  • preparation of briefings, correspondence and communication products for a wide range of external and internal stakeholders
  • reviewing and developing contracts / arrangements; and
  • management of capital works projects including the preparation of Business Cases, budgeting, procurement of Services, and project management and delivery.

A merit pool may be established for a period of 12 months from the date of this advertisement as a result of the selection process.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:

  • Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts applicants must be an Australian citizen.
  • Health Assessment: The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the department’s preferred medical provider.
  • Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at Baseline Level. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting clearances.
