Role description:
The Program Manager, Marketing & Communications is required to undertake work that is complex in nature and be able to work under limited direction. This will include driving the delivery of the External Communications and Digital Community Strategy 2020-23.

The Program Manager, Marketing & Communications role will provide their expertise, technical knowledge and specialised advice across the Section for the delivery of the functions of the Branch. This may include:

  • Providing advice on design, content, publication of high-quality communications and marketing materials in print and digital formats.
  • Promoting collaborative activities across the Section and Branch.
  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting on media coverage, including tactical responses.
  • Creating marketing and advertising strategies that promote the work of the agency.
  • Working with the Assistant Director on day to day workload management
  • Undertaking website publishing, social media and digital content production.

The Program Manager, Marketing & Communications role will manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to:

  • Assist in the preparation of communication and marketing strategies.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with advertising and media representatives in order to promote the agency.
  • Identifying, developing and initiating cross-promotional opportunities with government agencies and tourism industry bodies.
  • Providing advice to inform the coordination, forward planning and final scheduling of content, allowing for continuous improvement.

Leadership:

  • Lead or manage staff, mentor, guide, train, support and provide regular feedback to individuals and teams.
  • Manage scheduling, prioritisation, coordination and allocation of work to self and to allocated staff as appropriate, setting tasks and priorities, managing workflow and allocating resources.
  • Collaborate, participate and contribute to the Section and Branch work plans and broader organisational and APS objectives.
  • Model and promote a healthy and safe working environment, modelling and promoting ethical behaviour and practise consistent with APS code of conduct and APS values.
