Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Aquatic Weed Fragment Control Crew Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Waterways Manager and Harvesting Crew Supervisor in overseeing fragment control and collection during TKPOA harvesting operations that occur during the summer season in accordance with the Waste Discharge Requirements and TKPOA’s Integrated Management Plan.
Compensation: $26-28/hr

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Small craft boating experience
  • Basic mechanical experience on outboard motors
  • Map / GPS / Radio certification or training
  • Ability to identify Lake Tahoe’s Aquatic Plants

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Work for minimum of one season on harvesting crew
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid Driver’s License and State Mandated Vehicle Insurance
  • Must be able to work for entire specified season without taking any significant time off

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee crew throughout day with duties as assigned
  • Maintain schedule set by waterways manager
  • Be point of contact for waterways manager
  • Schedule preventative maintenance plan
  • Implement Spill Response Plan
  • Operate and maintain all required equipment of a 16-foot Fragment Control Boat
  • Control / collect harvested weed fragments and collect weed piles from designated areas
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Complete duties and support the TKPOA AIS Management Program as required
  • Employees are required to follow all boating regulations in accordance with USCG Boating Safety Guide and TKPOA Watercraft Policy
