Responsibilities:

MŌ TĒNEI TŪRANGA MAHI | ABOUT THE ROLE

The job is for an Academic Staff - Programme Co-ordinator for the arboricultural team at Wintec.

  • The responsibilities include ensuring that classes run safely and efficiently and that students are supported and their requirements are met.
  • The appointing salary for this role will be between $70.000 and $80.000, dependent on skills and experience.
  • The Arboriculture Tutor | Programme Co-ordinator is based in our Science and Primary industries faculty at the Horticultural Education Centre (HEC) in the Hamilton Gardens Wintec | Te Pūkenga reporting to the team manager at the HEC and will be responsible for:
  • Teaching a range of arboricultural skills from levels 3 – 5 with a particular emphasis on the practical knowledge and experience required to train those who are new to the industry right through to those who are advanced practitioners.
  • Maintaining the high standards of health and safety requirements to reflect best industry practice.
  • Writing, moderating, marking and resulting students assessments.
  • Co-ordinating the arboricultural team to deliver arboricultural training to the highest of industry standards

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A minimum requirement of a level 6 Diploma in Arboriculture or the equivalent
  • A minimum of five years arboricultural experience
  • Preferably an experience of a broad range of arboricultural activities and techniques
  • Suitable administrative and technological skills to undertake the coordination of multiple arboricultural qualifications and levels
