Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Branch Manager is accountable for all aspects of branch operations, customer service and the delivery of branch results consistent with Tarpon’s operational expectations. This role responsible for the direction and leadership for the overall operations, and to effectively and efficiently manage the development and directions of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction while building relationships.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years in a management or senior supervisory role.
  • Qualified Journeyman Electrician and/or Instrument Technician.
  • Preference given to those with post-secondary education in business.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
  • A clear and solid understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a service environment focused on exceeding the client’s expectations.
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Ability to monitor employee satisfaction, identify deteriorating situations and take action.
  • Developed problem solving skills sufficient to identify problems, generate solutions and decide on a course of action.
  • Ability to evaluate solutions in terms of business, financial and client impacts.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example.
  • Manage all aspects of branch operations that include but not limited to employees, scheduling, efficiency, cost control, preventative maintenance, revenue opportunities and inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve branch performance.
  • Monitor branch performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made, and that corrective action is taken if necessary.
  • Responsible for appropriate staff levels to meet requirements of the branch.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management.
  • Develop and manage business relationships and customer contacts.
  • Manage the morale in the branch by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers.
  • Enhance and develop processes and practices to meet the goals of the department.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high quality service in the branch to exceed customer expectations.
  • Assist with budget preparation.
  • Monitor financial performance to ensure the branch is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment.
  • Analyzes and reports on the branch’s key performance indicators and industry/market trends.
  • Develop and implement strategies around improving the financial performance of the branch.
  • Analyze employee and customer concerns and present options to solve their issues.
  • Monitor key business areas.
  • Review and use the monthly financial statements to ensure expense control and proactively plan service and sales goals.
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Attend safety meetings on a regular basis and provide support as needed.
  • Manage quality to ensure consistent operating performance.
  • Ensure that the integrity of the pricing structure is maintained.
  • Recommend capital projects for facility improvements and cost savings.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with other Tarpon employees including other branches and departments.
  • Provide leadership to your employees, help them grow and develop.
  • Communicate area and company initiatives to employees.
  • Communicate and ensure understanding of Tarpon’s business goals, values, and strategies to your employees.
  • Motivate and coach the team to achieve their performance goals and support Tarpon’s objectives ensuring recognition of accomplishments.
  • Ensure employees are effectively trained to perform their jobs safely and in accordance with Tarpon’s expectations.
  • Ensure premises are kept neat, clean and safe.
  • Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of branch equipment.
  • Manage risk and ensure the proper controls are in place to minimize losses.
  • Comply with the standards and procedures of the Tarpon Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Acts in a manner consistent with Tarpon’s core values and according to Tarpon’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethical Behaviour.
