Description:

The position is an integral part of the Asia Pacific headquarters and Southeast Asia finance function. It involves working with the senior management team and other finance personnel from across Abbott Asia Pacific region.
In carrying out all job-related activities, this person must be in compliance with local Singapore rules and regulations, environment laws, internal and U.S. FDA regulatory requirement, financial rules and practices, Code of Business Conduct, and local law and company regulations as stipulated in Abbott Singapore Employee Handbook.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of local country regulations and Abbott Financial Policies and Procedures
  • Understanding Planning and Reporting processes
  • Understanding of complete Order to Cash process
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Confident and able to work closely with senior management
  • Excellent spoken and written of English and knowledge of other Asian languages added advantage

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 5-6 years relevant experience in a US / Europe or MNC environment in Asia Pacific
  • Strong background in financial analysis & modeling
  • Strong PC skills. Can use the major office-based software programs, e.g. Excel, word processing, presentation programs, Power BI etc.
  • Prior experience in MedTech market is added advantage but not mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Senior management team to drive operating performance and execution
  • Provide analytical support and relevant financial information in business decision making, commercial strategies, allocation of resources based on commercial opportunities
  • Monitor country financial performance by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
  • Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools.
  • Develop and utilize sound financial processes.
  • Collect data from the Regions & Countries to meet the requirement of monthly internal reporting and developing Financial Plan and other forecasts
  • Collect/Prepare monthly Area sales forecast/estimate by country
  • Prepare consolidated monthly highlights to be submitted to Area and Division headquarters
  • Prepare quarterly scorecard for Area DVP
  • Prepare and submit inventory report/DOH to Area and Division Headquarters
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet
  • Collect/prepare/submit both Plan and actual capital report to Area and Division Headquarters
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
  • Assist with any ad hoc analytics supporting monthly close, forecasts, LBE’s and other reporting required for Division/Area Finance or Area DVP and Staff
