Description:

OVERVIEW:

We are actively seeking an Art Teacher with a concentration in Dance, Art, or Music to join our team at one of our schools located in Highland Park, CA. In this role, you will provide academic instruction and teach physical and social skills to students, aligning with the educational philosophy and curriculum requirements of our school. Compensation starts at $48,000 annually plus benefits. Join us in making a difference in the lives of students through the arts!

Schedule: Monday - Friday (school operating hours)

Requirements:

  • Required: California (Preliminary or Clear) Single Subject Teaching Credential
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred 1 year of experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies.
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum to meet diverse student needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and parents for student success.
  • Skill in maintaining accurate records and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Effective communication with students, colleagues, parents, and administration.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and establishing positive relationships within the school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction aligned with school goals and philosophy.
  • Plan engaging lessons and activities for diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain high behavior standards for a productive classroom.
  • Evaluate student progress through various assessments.
  • Communicate with parents, administration, and students about progress.
  • Enhance classroom environment with displays and learning centers.
  • Attend school activities and required training.
  • Identify and address student needs, referring to support services.
  • Set learning objectives based on curriculum guidelines.
  • Supervise students in different school settings.
  • Manage inventory and request instructional materials.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and committees.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
