Description:
SUMMARY
Texas Children’s Hospital is looking for a skilled AI engineer to become a vital part of our dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will develop machine learning and artificial intelligence systems, aiming to enhance both clinical outcomes and strategic business decisions. Additionally, your expertise will be instrumental in supporting cutting-edge research endeavors aimed at uncovering novel genes associated with diseases.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a collaborative approach, working hand-in-hand with a diverse array of professionals, including healthcare practitioners, research scientists, and organizational leaders. Your mission will be to implement cutting-edge AI algorithms and to find solutions for biomedical research challenges.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree. No experience is required with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Neural networks, deep learning, machine learning, PyTorch, natural language processing, and biomedical data processing.

Responsibilities:
- Engineer and refine predictive models and algorithms that will inform clinical and basic science research aimed at identifying novel genes associated with diseases.
- Conduct code reviews and tests on AI algorithms developed by other team members.
- Develop deep learning techniques and utilize large language models to process and analyze research data as well as electronic healthcare records.
- Consistently track and assess the efficacy of the predictive models and algorithms, proactively suggesting and implementing enhancements when necessary. - Benchmark and evaluate cutting-edge AI tools for the purpose of disease diagnosis and clinical outcome prediction.
- Delve into extensive datasets, employing advanced AI/ML algorithms to distill, analyze, and interpret the data. This process involves not just extracting meaningful patterns and trends but also formulating predictions and discovering actionable insights from complex data structures.
- Engage in proactive collaboration with a multidisciplinary team comprising healthcare professionals, research experts, and business executives. The goal of these partnerships is to uncover and seize opportunities where data can be leveraged to yield insights. This collaborative effort entails understanding the unique challenges and objectives of each stakeholder, and then conceptualizing, developing, and implementing tailored data-driven solutions. These solutions aim to optimize clinical outcomes, accelerate research breakthroughs, and drive strategic business initiatives, ultimately leading to informed decision-making and enhanced operational efficiency.
