ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER - CENTRAL PA STARTUP (PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENTS ONLY)

This is an on-site position in Reedsville, Pennsylvania. Candidates should be located within - or be willing to invest in relocating to - this location, which is in the State College, Pennsylvania area, home of the Pennsylvania State University and its world-class research facilities.
This is not a remote work opportunity.

WHAT WE DO:

Based in Reedsville, PA, in the State College, Pennsylvania area, Cignal is a growing AI startup and the creator of the Cignal Engine: an environment to safely test and exercise AI vision models before deploying them in the real world. Cignal Engine combines simulation, AI/ML, and other mathematical techniques to create high-fidelity synthetic image streams that are virtually indistinguishable from real data.
The Cignal Engine is used to test how well transportation security AI/ML models detect firearms, explosives, narcotics, and other dangerous items on people, in baggage, and in cargo. Cignal is a Ben Franklin Technology Partners portfolio company and member of the NVIDIA Inception startup program.

PAY AND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

The expected annual base pay for this position in Reedsville, Pennsylvania is USD $80,000.00/year - $100,000.00/year. Compensation may vary based on factors, including (but not limited to) competencies and skills, knowledge, qualifications, and experience. In addition to base pay, Cignal employees may be eligible to participate in our paid holiday and paid time-off programs and benefits plan (subject to terms).

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

We’re seeking a talented AI Engineer join our core Cignal Engine development team to help build new, advanced capabilities in Cignal Engine. You will personally be helping to make air travel safer while also having a substantial impact on introducing a game-changing, cutting-edge product!

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Deploy generative models in Cignal Engine’s 2D/3D rendering pipelines
  • Train Cignal Agents using the PyCignal API for Reinforcement Learning
  • Develop Python modules and APIs for training and deploying neural networks
  • Modify and implement neural network architectures for image and non-image data
  • Deploy synthetic data quality metrics in an MLOps environment
  • Engage with customers and the Cignal Engine community to demonstrate how to use Cignal Engine to build advanced computer vision models
  • Participate in code review sessions and accept and respond to critical feedback
  • Write efficient, scalable code
