Description:
We are a Berlin art start-up looking for passionate communicators and projectmanagers. coGalleries is a hub of Berlin-based international artists. We run an international art in residency program, an artistic incubator and organize art tours in Berlin that take our guests to the best galleries and directly to artist studios in Berlin and other cities. We are seeking for highly motivated, creative, and talented interns with initial experience and motivation for great projectmanagement.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:
- Educational Background: A degree or working towards a degree in arts administration, project management, fine arts, or a related field is desirable.
- Project Management: Initial experience or demonstrated understanding of project management, including planning, organization, and execution of various tasks.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people, including artists, gallery owners, patrons, and the general public.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German and/or other languages would be a plus.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic computer software including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and familiarity with project management tools and software. Experience with social media platforms for business use is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Art Industry: An understanding of the art world, familiarity with current art trends, and knowledge of Berlin’s local art scene would be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Artists Management: Coordinate with the resident artists, handle their scheduling, make sure they have access to the studio and other facilities when they need it, manage all their administrative and logistical needs.
- Program Planning and Execution: Plan, implement, and manage the art residency program, including creating schedules, planning workshops, events, exhibitions, etc.
- Liaison with Galleries: Act as the primary point of contact between the resident artists and the galleries that may host their work, arrange and attend meetings, and handle negotiations.
- Studio Management: Oversee the studio space, ensure it is maintained properly, manage inventory of art supplies, handle any required repairs or upgrades.
- Art Tours Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and lead art tours that include visits to galleries and artist studios.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date records of residency participants, their artwork, residency activities, and events.
- Promotion: Promote the residency program and the artists involved, through online and offline platforms, including social media, websites, press releases, and direct mailings.
- Communication: Handle communication between the residency program, artists, and the public. Answer queries and provide information about the program, the artists, the artwork, and the events.
- Feedback and Reporting: Regularly collect feedback from the artists, gallery visitors, and tour participants, and report to the senior management.
- Budget Management: Help manage the budget for the residency program, studio, and tours, keeping track of spending and providing regular reports
