POSITION

The Department of Asian American Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool.

We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach

  • Intro to Ethnic Studies

We are also interested in applicants who may be interested in these subject areas.

  • Intro to Asian Pacific American Studies
  • Asian American and Pacific Islander History
  • Asian Pacific American cultural/media studies
  • Asian Pacific American community studies
  • Asian American Women
  • APIDA Families
  • Multiple Heritage Studies
  • Vietnamese American Studies

This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ABD Doctoral Candidate or M.A. with substantial graduate course work in relevant field is required
  • Evidence of prior teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience
  • Evidence of experience in relevant academic field or relevant professional/community-based experience.
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
    The Department is open to candidates with non-traditional career paths and those candidates are encouraged to apply.
