The Boeing Company is seeking a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Assembly Mechanic in the Berkeley and Hazelwood area in MO! This is an exciting opportunity to assist in developing and improving the non-destructive inspection and or test techniques for Quality and Operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • High School Diploma
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout work, as well as carry and lift up to 35 pounds
  • This position requires an Occupational Health vision exam

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 1+ years of Aircraft experience
  • NDT Level II Training - 32 hours of formal training (16 in magnetic particle and 16 in dye penetrant)
  • Ability to become proficient with the principles and practices of the applicable test methods and techniques.
  • Experience with magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing

TYPICAL EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years’ related work experience, etc.).

SECURITY CLEARANCE AND EXPORT CONTROL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required

Responsibilities:

  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct system performance checks, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique and/or Method in which they are certified.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual specifications that control the Method used at their Site.
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in the technique and/or method in which they are certified.
    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.
