Description:

Position Summary:

  • Carry out mechanical assemblies of equipment, mechanical measurements, bench tests, hydraulic tests, conditioning of equipment for dispatch, collection of parts, mechanical adjustments, preparation of forms and other workshop tasks according to the production program and priorities established by the Supervisor of production.
  • Execute all activities following the procedures established by the company, and its integrated ISO 9001/14001 Quality system, prioritizing safety and environmental care.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assemble pumps and mechanical equipment, following established procedures and making measurements, notes and completing the required forms.
  • Carry out performance, hydraulic, mechanical and other related tests, following established procedures, completing the required forms.
  • Carry out the mechanical alignment of shafts, belts and other tuning elements of rotating equipment.
  • Collect parts for assembly and movements of materials necessary for the designated activity.
  • Carry out controls, measurements, touch-ups and mechanical adjustments of parts according to need.
  • Perform paint touch-ups, fill or drain oil, and other mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out the conditioning of equipment and parts for dispatch. Perform washing and cleaning of equipment or parts for repair services.
  • Clean and keep the work area or station tidy.
  • Use the tools, measuring instruments and other equipment provided by the company efficiently, correctly and carefully, notify the production supervisor of repair, maintenance or replacement needs.
  • Load production hours into the time control system daily and report any deviations (Quality Alerts) produced.
  • Attend and complete all required safety training, participate in weekly 5-minute safety meetings.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses, and suggest ways to improve safety.
  • Comply with ESH&S safety standards and procedures at ITT, client and supplier facilities.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and Gemba walks when required by the Production Supervisor.
  • Identify the improvement needs of the sector and record them in the mailboxes and tools dedicated to this purpose.
  • Actively participate in the activities that arise from the Lean Evaluation corresponding to the Plant/Production/Warehouse area.
  • Prepare inspection reports, field assistance and warranty evaluations when appropriate.
  • Collaborate in maintenance tasks of the workshop, warehouse and its facilities and machines when required.
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor, if required.
  • Comply with the performance evaluation and professional development objectives proposed by the area leader.

Position Requirements:

  • Verifiable experience in productive work in the rotating equipment industry (minimum 2 years)
  • Preference with knowledge/experience working in ISO 9001/14001 certified companies.
  • Level of education: Mechanical Technician (or equivalent in experience).
  • Management of Metrology Instruments.
  • Basic management of production control systems (ERP).
  • Management of alignment instruments for rotating equipment. (preferential)
