SUMMARY

Responsible for daily assembly of electro-mechanical instruments and their subassemblies, as well as packaging/crating and shipping parts, products, and completed instruments. Reports daily production and maintains organization of assigned area(s).
Reports to: Head of Service & Assembly

What you do:

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, drawings, and manuals related to but not limited to packaging, cleaning, assembly and dis-assembly of instruments and repairs.
  • Assemble and test quality mechanical and electrical subassemblies, components, and instruments in a timely manner.
  • Perform packaging duties manually and into product cartons and pallets.
  • Solder components and wire assemblies.
  • Periodically clean, troubleshoot, and repair instruments.
  • Perform documented preliminary quality control checks on subassemblies and completed instruments.
  • 7Make visual inspections and follow checklists.
  • Maintain a certain level of cleanliness and organization in work area.
  • Assist in weekly department housekeeping.
  • Assist in meeting shipping deadlines throughout the department.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and upper management.
  • Practice ESD and PPE protocols.
  • Support the Quality System and Quality Policy by following procedures / work instructions and creating records to meet the requirements of Tecan SP, Inc. Quality System and ISO registration.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ year electro-mechanical assembly experience required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English – reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of small manual and power tools.
  • Math skills necessary for this position include ability to add & subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, percentages and decimals.
  • Must be able to maintain inventory counts on parts.
