This role is a full time (or part time), permanent role, based at any of our head office locations

As our new Assessment Officer you will bring the following skills:

  • Previous experience and knowledge of residential lending incl. loan securities, land titles and other forms of property legislation, stamp duty legislation and practices is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a loan processing centre, security documentation or conveyancer functions or similar field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proactive, innovative and prepared to go the extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and co-operative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within tight timeframes with the ability to prioritise.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment or autonomously.
  • High level of literacy skills.
  • Highly accurate approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Code and Banking Code of Practice is desirable.
  • General understanding of loan securities.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to prioritise, monitor and organise workflow

Responsibilities:

As the Assessment Officer you will be reporting to the Team Manager Third Party Mortgage Operations, and will be accountable for the accurate assessment of a customer’s residential loan application and to validate data in line with policy and regulations. You will ensure that decision making, and DLA usage is executed within the Bank’s risk framework and meets regulatory obligations and be responsible for the quality of files to ensure correct and complete information is available to enable settlement to proceed. By playing a key role in the completion of these tasks, you will ensure the application workflow is continued and service levels are achieved. Meeting these requirements will deliver an excellent service to our partners and enhance the overall customer experience.
As the Assessment Officer you will evaluate data, evidence and system recommendation and exercising DLA responsibilities, ensuring the application process meets our policies and regulatory obligations. Furthermore, you will review supporting evidence and documentation for authenticity and verify against data entered into our Lending Platforms, including acceptance of checklist items. You will bring you attention to details skills to review valuations, title search, credit reports and LMI as required along with verification of documentation.
