Asset Manager
Rural Funds Management (RFM) has a rare opportunity to join the investment and operations team as an Asset Manager. As an Asset Manager you will provide investment and asset management functions. This position works across the entire investment lifecycle including new investment opportunities, ongoing operations, asset development and asset divestment, and is based in our Canberra Head Office.
REQUIREMENTS
You will be a driven individual with an analytical and entrepreneurial mindset. You will be analysing business opportunities, developing, and evaluating financial models and managing existing assets and operational processes. Ideally, you will have transactional experience in corporate finance or real assets. You will develop strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the business, be able to build rapport, trust, and credibility, and navigate objections.
To be successful in this position:
- You will be tertiary qualified in finance, accounting, economics or relevant field
- Have obtained or have the desire to pursue post graduate studies
- You will be experienced in a similar role. You will be highly regarded if you have 5+ years analytical or project management experience
- You will have a strong quantitative aptitude, be detail oriented, rigorous and creative in developing, and refining financial models
- You will have prior experience negotiating, interpreting and providing instruction on contractual agreements
- You will have a high level of expertise with MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel
- You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You will have the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a time-pressured and dynamic environment.
Applicants with prior experience, or a background in agriculture will be highly regarded for this position.

Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial modelling, including developing new models and adapting existing models
- Asset and lease management including, revenue forecasting, asset valuations, water resource monitoring and compliance
- Manage capital development projects for existing assets
- Maintaining systems and processes to deliver ongoing performance
- Developing and maintaining detailed financial models for potential acquisitions, divestments and developments
- Undertaking in-depth due diligence as part of a transaction team, and assist with legal documentation
- Sponsoring various projects from end-to-end at the direction of the senior management team
- Preparing agreements, research papers and proposals for consideration by senior management and the Board of Directors
- Build and maintain positive interactions with various stakeholders, including corporate tenants, suppliers and internal teams. Supervising, mentoring and training junior staff.
