QUALIFICATIONS
- Significant level of technical knowledge and experience for specialist levels with relevant tertiary education.
- IT certifications or extensive experience required for system development and integration.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and an ability to analyse potential solutions using technical experience and judgement.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
The objective of this role is to provide Information Systems subject matter expert support to all maintenance functions operating within the Rollingstock Maintenance business unit. This role will identify, define, and/or develop information systems to support AOR’s asset management objectives, with a special focus on the introduction of a new Maintenance Management System as part of the Fleet Maintenance Transition project to be implemented by October 2025.
The role provides cross domain information system support and is pivotal to maximizing performance and increasing the ongoing effectiveness of the Maintenance Shift Leaders, Maintenance Technicians, Work Planners and the Rollingstock Maintenance Team in general.
The role also includes continuous improvement activities within the systems to support new business requirements or improvements to existing business processes. Importantly a key focus of this role is to remove systems and processes that create and promote duplication and fragmentation of operational data sets.
The role works under the general direction of the Head of Maintenance Engineering within the Asset and Maintenance group and liaises with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including operational and maintenance personnel, service providers, contractors and the client.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in identifying and analysing business requirements for asset management systems.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of information systems to support asset management objectives, with a special focus on the implementation of a new Maintenance Management System as part of the Fleet Maintenance Transition project to be implemented by October 2025.
- Lead the development of Design Specification Requirement documents for all required systems to undertake the maintenance of the rollingstock fleet.
- Engage and manage subcontractors on the delivery of information systems related to the transition of the rollingstock maintenance from the current maintainer to AOR.
- Help develop and maintain system documentation, including requirements, design, testing, and implementation plans.
- Support the delivery of Asset Management systems scope within contract tenders, and project delivery activities.
- Execute system fault diagnosis activities and provide interface to any relevant development partners for containment and/or corrective actions to be carried out.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of systems development, including project planning, requirement gathering, system design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure that system requirements are met.
- Help manage projects and improvement initiatives for the Asset Management team.
- Ensure integrity of the Asset Management Systems used within AOR.
