As a key member of our Finance team, you’ll handle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) responsibilities while supporting end-of-month (EOM) processes. This role is ideal for an intermediate Accountant with a solid understanding of accounting principles, and who is eager to contribute to the financial success of our growing organisation. The role is a 12-month parental leave contract.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2+ years working in a similar role.
- Pre-requisite for this role is to be CPA or CA Qualified or working towards
- Essential to hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business or Accounting
- Sound understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Strong attention to detail alongside critical and analytical thinking
- Demonstrate a high level of written and verbal communication.
- Prior experience dealing with creditors, debtors, reconciliations and monthly financial reporting is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable function.
- Facilitate our Purchase Order process.
- Complete Financial Reports and provide relevant information to business units.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Verify balances in general ledger accounts and rectify discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly financial results including balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
- Assist with year-end accounts and group reporting.
- Support systems and process improvement projects.
- Maintain internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk area within the Finance team.
