We are seeking an experienced, Assistant Accountant to fulfil a key project role in our Finance Team, based at our Head Office in the Gold Coast. This role is on a fixed 6 month contract, working full-time Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

MORE ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The role is responsible for assisting in the performance of various reporting and analysis requirements for one of our largest airline clients. Working closely with our Management Accountant team and our General Manager, Finance this role will help to analyse Billings and work on effective weekly Reconciliations.

WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Assisting the Management Accountant to ensure the end of month reporting deadlines are met in accordance with dnata catering requirements
  • Assist and provide monthly variance and gap analysis and commentary on significant variances from budget and from previous months actual
  • Perform client billing Reconciliations across all our operational sites
  • Perform monthly and ad hoc Reporting
  • Creation and implementation of new reports as required by dnata management
  • Assist and participate in company Audits
  • Assist dnata team members with any problem-solving issues.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SECURING THIS ROLE?

  • Degree qualified in Finance or Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 3+ years business analysis or financial accounting experience
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Ideally have knowledge of Converga to QAD and JDE
  • Ability to multitask and manage your time efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational / time management skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a high volume, high value environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an analytical and methodical approach.
