Description:

About the role: We are currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Christchurch. With a full forward workload including some challenging & diverse projects ahead of us, we are excited to be able to offer this opportunity.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial accounts for associated companies
  • Processing of approved supplier invoices through the computerised Accounts Payable system, reconciliation to suppliers’ statements, and payment processing to meet required deadlines for subsidiary companies
  • Preparation & processing of all statutory returns including meeting all IRD deadlines and payment requirements for GST and FBT for all associated companies. Completion of all statistical returns for all associated companies to meet all requirements and deadlines
  • Management of Accounts Receivable Ledger including reconciliation of customer accounts, checking of contract payments, and management of retentions

Key Skills & Experience:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification and/or equivalent/relevant experience & knowledge
  • A working knowledge of accounting standards, legislation, and practices
  • Excellent numerical & analytical skills
