MAYDAY Recruitment are exciting to be partnering with a leading Australian organisation who are searching for a standout Accounts Assistant. We invite you to become a vital part of a dynamic finance team, driving excellence and innovation.
As an Accounts Assistant you will be working under the direction of the Accounts Manager and CFO, and responsible for the accounting operations of the group including but not limited to AP, AR, month end, year end financial reporting requirements, ATO reporting and lodgements.

The role:

  • AP: including accurate suppliers’ bills entry, assist in preparation & processing of payment runs, handling staff cash expenses claim check and booking in system, corporate credit card check and entry
  • AR: including timely raising of sales invoices and receipting of funds to relevant customer accounts, assist with AR collections
  • Assist with the preparation of month end and year end
  • Assist with payroll processing, preparation and lodgement of payroll tax returns
  • Responsible for monthly BAS preparation and lodgement with ATO
  • Fixed assets monitoring and reconciliation including depreciation on monthly basis
  • Daily bank reconciliations, assist in monitoring working capital and cash flow position
  • Working Knowledge of Business insurances and Australia workers insurance cover, ensure adequate insurance coverage and claims settled on time
  • Address queries from internal and external stakeholders, liaise with auditors, and handle audit queries
  • Any other finance processing and administrative duties as required by management

The ideal candidate

  • At least 2 years of local Australian experience in an accounts assistant role
  • Degree qualified
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including accounting systems and Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and JCurve accounting software would be an advantage
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in working within and contributing to a high performing team
  • Experience in providing customer focussed services
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good time management skills when dealing with multiple priorities
