Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY;

We are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join Ritchies, based in Auckland, at our head office in Swanson, reporting to the Group Accountant.
In this essential role, you’ll provide crucial support to our finance team, overseeing various financial accounting tasks to maintain the integrity of our financial data and ensure compliance with reporting standards. This includes managing fixed assets, co-ordinating daily banking with our transactional teams, GST/FBT returns, and month end journals and reporting.

We partner with regional councils and schools to supply public transport services as well as offering a range of bus and coach hire services to businesses and the general public. ABOUT YOU;

You hold a tertiary qualification in finance or similar at certificate level and are CPA/CA qualified, or actively working towards this qualification. You’ve got solid financial, cost and management accounting abilities, coupled with your ability to manage multiple and sometimes rapidly changing priorities, you’re looking for a role that will support your career journey and offer the opportunity for development.
You pride yourself on your eye for detail and your time management skills.
You’re a great team player and can communicate with a variety of people and groups in a manner that is concise and easy to understand. You take health and safety seriously and are an advocate for it’s importance.

YOUR SKILLS;

  • Ideally knowledge of General Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Self-starter
  • Experience in financial analysis/reporting/budgeting, and associated systems (SAP) is desirable
  • Ideally a tertiary qualification in finance or similar
  • Strong communicator
  • Great business acumen
  • Interest in public transport
  • Health and safety savvy
