WHAT YOU BRING!

The ideal Assistant Accountant candidate brings a wealth of skills and experience to the table. You have a strong educational background in accounting or finance, coupled with at least two years of commercial experience at an accounts assistant level. Your expertise extends from using Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) to having knowledge of IT accounting systems. You possess highly developed analytical skills with an eye for detail. Your ability to write and present financial proposals based on sound business data sets you apart.

  • Tertiary education and studying towards a professional qualification or Associate Chartered Accountant status
  • At least two years commercial experience at an accounts assistant level
  • Experience participating in meetings and presenting findings to different business teams
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Knowledge and experience of IT accounting systems
  • Ability to write and present financial proposals based on sound business data
  • Highly developed analytical skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our client’s business. You will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, providing insightful analysis on financial performance, ensuring accurate monthly reporting, managing insurance claims/renewals, producing year-end financial accounts, ensuring compliance with statutory returns, managing fixed assets, and assisting with budget compilation. Your ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders will be key in this role.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for pharmacy entities
  • Provide analysis and commercially sound commentary on the monthly financial performance of pharmacy entities
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations
  • Ensure processes are in place for accurate and timely monthly reporting
  • Liaise with pharmacy entities regarding financial issues and ensure timely response to financial enquiries
  • Manage insurance claims/renewals
  • Produce and analyse year-end financial accounts
  • Ensure statutory returns are completed and deadlines met for pharmacy entities
  • Manage and maintain fixed asset registers for pharmacy entities
  • Assist with the compilation of annual budgets for pharmacy entities
