The Children and Youth Group (CYG) in The Salvation Army Singapore serves hundreds of vulnerable children and youth yearly. In line with our vision to provide a continuum of care to uplift those in need, our services span from preventive services, foster care and residential services to reunification support services for vulnerable children returning to their natural families after being removed due to safety concerns. DESIGNATION : Assistant Accountant
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a meticulous Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Manager to run financial processes in an effective and timely manner, covering all aspects of financial & management accounting, budgeting and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma/Degree in Accountancy/Business or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience.
- Good knowledge and a passion for accounting.
- Hands-on, meticulous and takes initiative.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion system will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of monthly management reports, analyse variances between monthly budget and actual results
- Perform accounting and administrative tasks related to processing of the accounts receivables, accounts payables, internal billings, journal entries
- Receipting of government grants and all monies received
- Expenses & claim administration
- Monitor cash imprest, cash disbursements, cash advances and credit card transactions
- Administration and disbursement of donations-in-kind, including gift voucher
- Prepare of annual operating budgets
- Prepare financial and statistical reports for all government subventions
- Assist with liaising with auditors of statutory and special audits
- Ensure adherence with good governance, organisational policies, charities accounting principles, GST and statutory legislations
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve existing processes and internal control systems to ensure compliance
- Perform any other duties as and when required.
