Note to Applicants: This is a department only search. You must be a current UA employee working in the Intercollegiate Athletics Department to be considered.
Job Summary: The Assistant Athletic Director of Events oversees and coordinates all event operations within the Athletics Department. Serves as the primary contact for outside organizations. Organizes and manages all SEC, NCAA, and outside events conducted by the department. Provides mentorship, instruction, and oversight to event staff and student workers. Maintains and prepares athletics facilities for competitions.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years of athletic event management experience at a major comprehensive university; or a Master’s and four (4) years of athletic event management experience at a major comprehensive university.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge and comprehension of NCAA and SEC policies and procedures. Ability to work successfully in a multi-task environment. Knowledge of personal computers and standard software applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Sports Administration.
