JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Tennessee State University seeks applicants for a 9-month full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Agribusiness Management that begins 8/9/2024.
The successful candidate is expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in agribusiness management (minimum of 4 courses per semester), both in the classroom and online as needed; advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students and work effectively as a member of a faculty team to continually update and improve degree programs and student learning experiences.
Other responsibilities include advising students, serving on department, college, and university academic committees, and professional committees. The successful candidate will also develop and lead a nationally recognized research program, acquire extramural funding and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold a Ph.D degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness or closely related field of study from an accredited University and must have documented professional experience and a strong track record of teaching, research, student training and mentorship.
Preference will be given to those with aptitude to teach undergraduate courses, and work with students. Formal classroom and online teaching experience, program development and excellent written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
