    We are currently looking for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Assistant/Associate Professor will be responsible for teaching within the biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences (e.g., biochemistry/biotechnology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutics, pharmacogenomics, immunology, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, physiology, pathophysiology) based on expertise within the accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program and the Physician Assistant program. The selected candidate will develop and teach professional elective courses in their area of interest and expertise, serve as advisor to Doctor of Pharmacy students and student organizations, provide service to the department, the College, the profession and community, initiate and pursue scholarly activity in the biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences and advance the field of specialization. This is a non-tenure position.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

  • PhD in Pharmacology or Toxicology
  • Prior teaching experience in higher education, preferably in an area of the health sciences
  • Evidence of commitment to scholarship
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Teaches in a College of Pharmacy curriculum both didactic and laboratory setting.
  • Serves as a faculty mentor/advisor for professional students and participate in student recruitment.
  • Develops an elective course within the candidate’s field of expertise.
  • Provides service to the Pharmaceutical Science Department and College through committee work and leadership of course coordination, service to the profession at local, regional, and national levels, and participates in community service.
  • Actively conducts and contributes to scholarly pursuits.
  • Supports attainment of the College’s Mission and goals as outlined in the university and college Strategic Plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
