Job Summary/Basic Functions
Knowledge of philosophy including current developments in a teaching discipline. Ability to develop effective curriculum materials, contribute generally to student academic progress in a significant way, and organize and effectively present course work. Ability to apply recent pedagogical methods in teaching, manage and organize the classroom environment, and develop and implement assessment activities
Minimum Qualifications
DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING:
The primary responsibilities for the position include teaching undergraduate level courses in philosophy, student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, and conducting scholarly activities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment and service to the department, College and University as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Faculty teaching at the undergraduate level
- Doctor’s or Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline ( a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
