About us
The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is an independent statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role

As the Assistant Board Secretary, you will provide complex administrative and secretarial support to the Head of Legal and Governance/ Board Secretary, assist in coordinating governing board and committee meetings, and deliver excellent service to board members and executives. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Delivering high level secretariat support including preparation of agendas and board papers, minute taking, managing the secretariat inbox, and reviewing sensitive correspondence.
  • Liase with executive and senior management regarding action items, board reports, and other requests.
  • Provide further support to executives and board members as directed by the Head of Legal and Governance/ Board Secretary.
  • Coordinate board requirements including travel, accommodation, catering, reimbursements.

About you
To be successful as the Assistant Board Secretary you will need to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and clarity in written communication along with experience working with confidential information. You will have excellent time management and organisational skills to meet strict deadlines and prioritise complex matters. The Assistant Board Secretary will have secretarial experience supporting governing boards, committees, or executive management. Experience in a regulatory authority or the Victorian Public Service will be highly regarded.
