Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Assistant Business Consultant within the Northern Mental Health Division.
The Assistant Business Consultant is responsible for the provision of a responsive, timely, comprehensive, and integrated financial management, accounting and reporting service to support management decision making.

This includes contributing to:

  • the provision of advice and assistance on budgetary issues and tasks
  • the provision of financial advisory services to support management decision making
  • the effective and efficient operation of the Mental Health Division
  • the provision of reports to management and executive, including reporting relating to the Divisions’ budget matters

As an Assistant Business Consultant, you will also be responsible for:

  • preparing reports with appropriate recommendations to assist in analysis and decision making.
  • providing accurate, timely and responsive advice, reports and information, to support and inform improvements in resource management and administrative processes and procedures under limited direction.
  • continuous improvement projects and change activities as needed, with a focus on implementing saving strategies.
  • accounts receivable and payable tasks including invoice certification and/or approval and the preparation and processing of complex organizational wide journals and reconciliations processing.
  • ensuring approved policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.
  • providing advice and training on financial support activities to increase the overall capability of the finance function in the Division.
  • using initiative and judgement when providing advice and responding to a range of clients.

In this role you will work collaboratively within the Mental Health Division and Finance to deliver a portfolio of specialised finance, operational and compliance functions to NALHN in a timely, supportive and customer focused manner.
