Assistant Claims Manager

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Claims Manager to join our Claims department within the Marine Aviation team here at Tokio Marine Kiln. You will report to the Head of Marine Aviation Claims and will ensure that the delivery of TMK Claims service is carried out in a way that fully meets customer expectations. You will assist the Head of Marine Aviation Claims in the delivery of TMK Claims Service through management of claims issues arising from designated books of business and development of nominated client relationships.

The delivery, through personal ownership and via the team, of a first-class service to all customers.
Managing a portfolio of claims, primarily of a complex nature. This will be achieved through personal ownership, working with more experienced colleagues, oversight of Senior Claims Adjusters and/or Claims Adjusters
ensuring that the principles of conduct risk are fully understood, embedded, and practiced by all members of the team and external service suppliers.
Setting and monitoring team member’s appraisals and objectives to support the daily delivery of the TMK Claims Business Plan to include personal training and development.
Taking personal ownership of nominated client relationships to ensure delivery of Claims services to support and develop business objectives, also ensuring fair customer outcomes commerciality when decision making in line with TMK values.
Working with the TMK Compliance and Internal audit teams to ensure that agreed business procedures are complied with.
Liaising with Underwriting teams regarding claims and wording issues at an individual and market level.
The successful candidate will have general Marine Aviation insurance market background and will also have extensive experience handling Marine Aviation Claims. An ACII qualification is also desirable, as is experience of managing or mentoring people. A depth and breadth of knowledge on the London Market would also be highly beneficial, as would an understanding of Claims MI, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ECF. We are looking for someone who has the ability to foster and maintain excellent business relationships, who can also lead, develop and motivate.
