Description:

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a member of the Group Secretariat & Corporate Governance Management Team and to build relationships with key Group partners, while assisting the Group Secretary and Deputy Group Secretary in providing the highest standards of corporate governance in support of the Committees.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

There are no minimum educational requirements for this role, however an ICSA qualification or desire to work towards same would be preferable.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Act as Secretary to the assigned Committees including planning, organising and attending Committee meetings, agreeing work programmes and agendas, scheduling items for consideration in accordance with the Group’s strategic priorities, organising clear and appropriate papers and preparing detailed fit for purpose minutes;
  • Proactively managing the assigned Committees action log, ensuring agenda items are appropriate for discussion, following up to ensure that all decisions are driven and that governance requirements are met;
  • Managing the annual effectiveness evaluation process and preparing the annual Schedule of Topics for the assigned Committees;
  • Ensuring effective information flows within the Committees and between the Committees and the Board;
  • Supporting the Group Secretary and Head of Board & Executive Risk Governance in further enhancing and simplifying the Group governance structure and its operations, working with key partners and driving improvements proactively;
  • Providing support, as the need arises, across the wider Group Secretariat & Corporate Governance function in fulfilling the broader accountabilities of the function.
