Assistant Controller

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the service industry, located in Goose Creek, South Carolina. You will be part of a team working with the MRI division and franchises, overseeing settlement statements and reconciliations.

• Oversee and manage financial accounting functions, including the preparation of financial reports and statements
• Work closely with the MRI division and handle accounting matters for 250 franchises
• Handle settlement statements and perform reconciliations
• Assist in the promotion of Accounting Supervisor/manager to Assistant Controller
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Utilize your CPA skills to maintain financial health and stability of the company
• Manage financial data and propose improvements to increase efficiency and profitability
• Collaborate with other departments to consolidate financial information
• Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts
• Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations
• Train and mentor junior staff members in financial management.
• Must hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
• Proven experience in the service industry, preferably in a finance or accounting role
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
• Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting
• Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Ability to work closely with a senior management team
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
• High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
