Description:

WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR A ASSISTANT CREDIT MANAGER TO JOIN OUR CREDIT CONTROL DEPARTMENT BASED IN NEWCASTLE WEST, CO. LIMERICK.

As Credit Assistant Manager, you will assist in managing the company’s credit function and report directly to the Credit Manager. This will involve making credit line decisions and acting as direct line manager for the credit control, credit analysis and credit admin team. You will monitor closely their performance, collate and populate performance management analysis as well as promote and manage a sound working environment for the teams.
Using a professional and proactive attitude, you will provide your team with clear and concise guidance and support, encouraging productivity and ensuring that targets and deadlines are met. You will also produce and analyse complex debt ledgers and identify key issues requiring strong analytical and numerical skills. You will work closely with front of office departments including sales and pricing teams. An ability to build strong working relationships is a must.
To be considered, you must have previous experience in a supervisory capacity. Experience in a credit environment within the food services sector would be advantageous but is not essential. More essential is your excellent understanding of debt ledgers D.S.O and your ability to demonstrate your experience as a strong people manager. Knowledge of SOX compliance would also be advantageous.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years credit experience
  • Minimum 2 years people management experience
  • Relevant qualification an advantage
  • Strong negotiation skills essential
  • Full class B drivers licence and flexibility to travel

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure credit and collections and customer accounts are maintained to the highest standard
  • People management
  • Ensure adequate training and coaching is available when applicable to meet staffing requirements
  • Effectively handle customer queries / escalations
  • Agree customer payment plans
  • Liaise with DCA’s and legal counsel when applicable
  • Assist colleagues as the business demands
  • Prepare weekly / monthly and quarterly reports
  • Assume control of the department in the absence of the credit manager
  • To represent the company on appropriate industry bodies and official meetings as required
  • To review accounts periodically with Credit controllers and Sales Management

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • The Debtors Ledger Management
  • Maintaining a high level of performance in conjunction with company KPIs
  • Agreeing customer credit terms and limits
  • Handling customer queries
  • Ensuring that all customer records are properly maintained
  • Ensuring relevant transactions are processed on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring SOX compliance is adhered at all times
