JOB SUMMARY
The job duties of the Deputy Corporation Counsel include but are not limited to performing the duties of Deputy Corporation Counsel as provided in Wis. Stats. § 59.42. In the absence or in place of the Corporation Counsel, when so directed, this position represents and advises Chippewa County leadership in civil matters and provides responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required at the time of hire or for the continuation of employment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school required.
- Minimum three (3) years in local government legal experience required.
- Significant practice experience in several or all of the following areas of government law preferred: child support/paternity, guardianship/protective placement; termination of parental rights, children in need of protection and/or services, juveniles, termination of parental rights, mental health commitments, public health, zoning, labor and employment, contracts, open meetings and records and real estate.
- License to practice law in the State of Wisconsin required.
- Membership in the State Bar of Wisconsin required.
- A valid driver’s license required.
