Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director of Compliance serves as a member of the compliance team that is committed to excellence and advancing the vision of the Department of Athletics through its strategic plan. This position supports the compliance staff liaison to the Student-Athlete Support Services Office (SASSO), college advisors, and the Registrar’s Office. This position works closely with SASSO and the Registrar’s Office regarding NCAA and Big Ten Conference progress towards degree and initial eligibility requirements.
Additionally, the position supports the compliance monitoring team and works closely with the coaches, support staff, and student-athletes to ensure adherence to recruiting and extra benefit legislation. This position works in a fast-paced creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL EDUCATION DESIRED
J.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree is required; Juris Doctor or Master’s Degree is preferred. 1-3 years of experience in an athletic compliance setting at an institutional, conference or national association level is required. Position requires strong computer skills, strong analytical skills, well-developed written and oral communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple projects. Must have successful experience working in a collaborative and team oriented environment and act with integrity and personal accountability.
