SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES

We are seeking an individual with the following skills and capabilities:

  • Experience in managing and/or practical knowledge of employment related policies and programs or an ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
  • High level understanding of data and an ability to use data to develop narratives.
  • High level written communication skills particularly in providing advice and briefs to Senior Executives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to foster productive working relationships with internal stakeholders in developing an understanding of how their programs and/or work area contributes to Workforce Australia Online.
  • Ability to work independently with broad and limited direction, with high level of flexibility and adaptability, as well as being able to work with limited resources.

Responsibilities:

The temporary Assistant Director program manager role is needed to support the administration of Workforce Australia Online. Workforce Australia Online is part of the Government’s employment services system, designed as a service offer for clients who are assessed as more job ready and able to self-manage their mutual obligations. The Assistant Director role has a particular focus on program performance and the operation of key program safeguards. Workforce Australia Online is used by clients to search and apply for jobs, undertake activities, or find more information on their pathway to employment.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Services, the Assistant Director is responsible for developing strategic insights and material which describe how Workforce Australia Online is performing from a whole of program perspective. This will involve liaising with a large number of teams within the Employment and Workforce Group to obtain data and insights on elements of the program and the client experience that can be used to develop a range of materials for different audiences that describe how Workforce Australia Online is performing.
As we are a small team you will also be expected on occasion to assist other areas of the team on time critical tasks.
