Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
This role is a great entry-level opportunity to apply your copyediting skills while building a career with a fast-growing organisation. As an Assistant Editor, you will contribute to our company’s mission of helping clients make better business decisions by editing market research reports and making sure they adhere to IBISWorld’s writing standards and style guidelines.
You will be provided with on-the-job training when you first join IBISWorld, and your colleagues will support you in learning about our product and your role.
REPORTING TO THE EDITORIAL TEAM LEADER, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Copyediting economic reports for spelling, punctuation and grammar issues
- Making corrections to reports without altering the meaning or logic of the content
- Conducting in-depth reviews of reports, making detailed edits and suggestions
- Ensuring that reports adhere to company writing and style guidelines
- Liaising with authors to resolve writing or logic issues in reports in a timely manner
- Performing basic layout and typesetting tasks in InDesign and Illustrator
- Working with other editors to refine styles, systems, guidelines and more; helping update department manuals and guides as needed
- Collaborating with the Editorial team, authors and managers
- Other duties as assigned
