Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner, Band 4 in Mental Health Support Teams (MHST).

As an Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will be expected to work under supervision as part of a dynamic mental health team in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, ways of working and supporting children and young people are actively encouraged.
This approach requires flexibility and working in educational settings. The team employ a range of evidence-based interventions for common mental health problems via direct individual and group support for children, young people and their parents.

Responsibilities:

Work closely alongside a team of mental health professionals delivering a wide range of evidence informed interventions, under supervision.
Develop and practice evidence-based skills under supervision to work directly with children, young people and families.
Under supervision to support holistic and child-centered mental health assessments, including risk assessments.
Manage a caseload
Support conducting audits and offer workshop and training as a Whole School Approach.
Require you to use analytical skills and interpret audit responses to establish the WSA offered to education settings
Be required to support the provision of comprehensive assessments and plan treatment for the family/cyp accordingly
Require physical effort of travelling/driving to and from sessions, taking resources for workshops etc
You may be required to support students and new staff within induction phases as to your role and accountabilities
Require an ability to manage work diary and prioritise workload
Require mental effort to keep contemporaneous records and write reports as required
Require the post holder to manage challenging and emotional situations that may arise within clinical settings and also an ability to manage conflict, with support from senior colleagues. The post holder is required to :
Demonstrate the ability to work at A level or have an equivalent level of relevant experience
Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others.
Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders
Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties
