QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be degree qualified or studying for degree (or equivalent)
  • Due to noise, light, odour, and vibration monitoring the candidate must have good physical health, good hearing and olfactory acuity (sense of smell)
  • Good Geospatial interpretation ability in order to identify precise locations
  • Must be willing to work flexibly to tight timescales
  • Able to use technical equipment in the field with minimum supervision
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • Follows relevant policies and procedures
  • CSCS Card preferred but not essential

Responsibilities:

THIS ROLE WILL BE A SIX MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT, BASED FROM EITHER OUR LONDON, LEICESTER, CROYDON OR LEEDS OFFICE / DEPOT WITH SITE VISITS UK WIDE.

Working within the NALO team, work is expected to focus on monitoring work and environmental noise modelling and reporting, including:

  • Environmental noise & vibration surveys
  • Building Acoustics surveys
  • Artificial lighting surveys
  • Odour surveys
  • Construction site noise, vibration and air quality particulates monitoring
  • Data manipulation & report writing
  • Fee proposals and tender submissions
  • Project management tasks
  • Site access arrangements
  • Noise technical modelling and assessment

Typical noise surveys involve an element of night-time work (typically 21:00 – 01:00am) so overnight stays (usually 1 night per week) and the occasional weekend work will be needed.

  • Manages own and others time to ensure that assigned work is completed to deadlines and is of good quality. Where needed, stays extra hours to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintains good communication with colleagues and team members
  • Follows up on work assigned even if completed by others
  • Verbal and written communication is professional, recorded and shared with all necessary team members and filed correctly for all to access
  • Uses sense, effort and innovation to ensure that the task is completed most efficiently

  • Is a helpful and integrated member of the team. Seeks to understand and assist with the needs of all team projects and deliverables
  • Maintains a good attitude towards health and safety
  • Conforms to Tetra Tech policies and NALO procedures (including essential tasks such as timesheet completion) and promotes compliance to others
