Assistant Food and Beverage Manager
The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will contribute to the overall success of Coast Hotels by supporting the service team in creating a positive, energized and contemporary setting. This position will be responsible for leading, empowering and motivating the restaurant ambassadors and liaising with the culinary team and ensuring quality service and customer satisfaction are exceeded through attention to details and high standards.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality preferred or Hospitality industry courses in Hotel Management
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
- Preference will be given to candidates with Squirrel and Open Table experience
- Exceptional communication & multi-tasking skills
- Ability to deal with fast paced customer service oriented environments
- Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended
- Food Safe and Serving it Right Certification an asset
- Demonstrates superior customer service philosophy
- Exemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability

Responsibilities:
- Checks and maintains service and food preparation standards
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and engage ambassadors
- Provides guidance and direction to ambassadors, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
- Supervises the handling of cash, cheques, credit cards transactions, cash floats and bar inventory control
- Handles guest complaints, follows through with appropriate action
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the team
- Assists with promotions and marketing initiatives on all social media channels
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with repeat guests
- Monitors the quality of work and provides feedback on the degree to which operational standards are met
- Creates weekly work schedules for the restaurant team
- Effectively communicates goals to the team
- Maintains health and safety standards and complies with all regulations
- Other duties as required
