Description:
Responsibilities:
- Manage geographically dispersed team of legal professionals;
- Draft, review, revise, negotiate, and provide counsel to the business on commercial contracts;
- Advise management on legal issues arising from Caterpillar’s relationship with third parties, including specific commercial, disputes, regulatory, compliance, investigation, and other issues that may arise from time to time;
- Work with other subject matter experts in Caterpillar;
- Provide counselling on legal matters and related risks and opportunities based on an accurate interpretation of the law as it applies to various situations;
- Have and/or develop a deep understanding of the business, to consult with management on matters involving significant risk to the enterprise and requiring a high degree of confidentiality.
- Work independently but with support and collaboration of other attorneys and senior leadership within the Law, Security & Public Policy Division;
- Participate in day-to day tactical legal practice, identifying and resolving issues in a variety of practice areas; and
- Coordinate with outside counsel in the region to obtain local advice.
