The Role
The purpose of this role is to support the transactional accounting and financial administration of Terms of Trade, Agency Commission and Trade Spend optimisation through the administration of claims verification, accruals and reconciliation of cost and balance sheet accounts. This role supports the delivery of financial analysis and key insights of our investment in trade including ROI.
The Assistant Management Accountant is primarily responsible for the accounting and financial administration of Terms of Trade and Trade Spend. This includes the accurate and timely day to day processing of all elements of trade spend, ensuring claims and payments are made in accordance with approval processes and within delegated authorities through our systems and structures. As well as the management of customer claims reconciliation to the intended deal or agreement, ensuring only what the customer is entitled to be paid is processed.
The position has no direct reports.
That’s the role, so who are you?

You will have…

  • A degree qualification in accounting and CA or CPA qualified or working towards completing an accounting degree.
  • A Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the Finance team.
  • Be an experienced analyst with rebate experience who has worked in the consumer goods industry.
  • Demonstrate an ability to analyse big data and clearly articulate observations & make recommendations.
  • Well-developed analytical abilities, able to read and interpret data, present findings in an easy-to-understand way with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer and numeracy skills
  • A tenacity for identifying issues concerning system integrity issues.
  • The ability to ensure outstanding issues are followed up until completed.
  • A focus on accuracy with an ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for performance.
  • A team player mentality, someone who is prepared to learn and assist wherever necessary.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Self-motivation, with a positive demeanour
  • Strong, clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be flexible to work additional hours at pressure times.
  • A demonstrated understanding and preparedness to commit to the organisation’s values.
  • Experience with JD Edwards One World or other ERP & BI tools.
  • Advanced Excel spread sheeting and strong Microsoft Office applications skills.
