Reporting to the Director, this full-time and permanent position is based inVistra North Sydney office, Australia and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Business Services team and its’ growth.
If you’re seeking to step up into a leadership role, this opportunity allows you to step up as an Assistant Manager to develop leadership skills.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting/ Finance; and CA or CPA Qualified.
  • Minimum 10 years post-graduates experience as a Business Services Accountant (or related)
  • Experience in managing international stakeholders (colleagues, team members, senior managers etc)
  • Minimum 3 years of client-facing experience and has strong client relationship management skills (in particular with international-based clients)
  • Workflow management skills and experience, and the ability to delegate tasks.
  • Has tax experience in a professional practice environment in Australia.
  • Experience with APS, Handi Soft, ATO Portal, Class Super and XERO.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality, producing quality work, professionalism, literacy, grammar and punctuality.
  • Strong computer skills including the Microsoft suite and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills managing challenging deadlines and has high attention to detail.
  • Experience with FBT and ESS are desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operational responsibilities of a Business Services team to deliver high quality services to clients.
  • Strong focus on international client relationship management.
  • Preparing financial accounts, tax returns and associated documentation for entity structures (company, trust & partnership) and individuals.
  • Prioritise, delegate and review tax compliance assignments including the annual financial statements, tax returns, activity statements, other tax compliance requirements.
  • Utilising your knowledge for common tax issues to manage PSI, Div 7A and CGT issues.
  • Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of IAS/BAS returns.
  • Liaising with the ATO on a variety of matters.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Assisting the Management Accountant with data entry/bookkeeping for local and international clients.
  • Continuously building and maintaining strong relationship with both Australian-based and international-based stakeholders.
  • Experience with FBT and ESS are desirable.
