On behalf of our client, AusAG Rural is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Manager – a role that requires fulfilment to support the owners of a dryland farming operation located 25 kilometres south of the McIntyre River border crossing. With Goondiwindi being a definitive hub for the wider rural community, this thriving border region offers all essential services, dealerships, shopping, and educational options for families. Located a short drive to Toowoomba on the Darling Downs and then onto Brisbane, Goondiwindi is well positioned as the southern country Queensland hub for farmers, graziers, and their families.
Responsibilities:
- To bring transferrable skills into this position and easily transition into such a position. While it is still suitable for a candidate to essentially ‘step-up’ into this leadership position, the level of prior experience must be satisfactory in order to make this transition.
- To demonstrate those naturally desirable managerial capabilities with the ability to, with experience, extend beyond the paddock in order to assist to manage the day-to-day operations of this farm.
- To possess a good demeanor, excellent record keeping and proactiveness when it comes to crop production forward-planning and conversion with external stakeholders such as agronomists.
- To maintain the ability to always incorporate best land management practices.
- To be willing and able to undertake both the Assistant managerial role as well as the practical element of work which remains to be an essential part of this position.
- To oversee a small team of staff.
